A family owned cottage on the west shore of Lake Esau in the private community of Presque Isle Harbor. 3 bedroom , two bath on two levels, large deck. Very quiet and private setting. Miles of private paved roads, very little traffic. Private beaches on lake Huron and Grand Lake. The cottage is set back 300 feet from our private paved access road and 40 feet from the lake front. A year round residence on one side and a heavily wooded vacant lot that we own on the other. Lake Esau is 750 acre all sports lake with 1/2 mile of protected un-developed shoreline and private cottages. You can relax on the 12x30 covered porch or sit in a chair on the lawn and enjoy a great view of the Lake. The interior of the cottage is bright and airy with large windows in the front and a great view of the lake. A bay window dinning area overlooks the lake. Enjoy a camp fire by the lake in the evening ( wood provided). Fish from the 40 foot dock. Launch your own boat from our private ramp on the east shore of the lake. Dock your boat up to a 24 ft.in length. A canoe and 12 Ft. fishing boat are provided.. The water is crystal clear - great swimming. The depth increases gradually - good for children. The lake bottom is a mixture of smooth stone, fine gravel and sand. The bottom is clean - no weeds or muck. Good bass fishing from our dock. Boat traffic is Light. A Swimming raft is anchored just offshore. I you would like to swim in lake Huron, there are three private sandy beaches at Presque Isle Harbor Marina within the assocation boundaries. The new Range Light Park beach is nearby.. a great place for small children. Boat Lauches on our lake,Grand Lake and Lake Huron. Enjoy over 3000 acres of private association land with quiet paved roads and miles of nature trails thru the woods or along the lake shores. This area is ideal for cycling, hiking, walking or jogging. Take a drive at dusk to see wild Turkey and Deer. Canoe around the lake at dawn or dusk for good wildlife viewing - which includes many waterfowl species. Search for fossils on the lake Huron shore. It's a 5 minute drive to the Public Library, Post Office and General Store in the village of Presque Isle. Drive just 3 miles or ride your bikes on the paved bike path to Presque Isle Harbor Marina complex on Lake Huron - the only natural harbor on the west shore of the lake. There you will find the DNR sheltered boat harbor, the portage restaurant, the new and 'old' Lighthouse Parks, pizza shop, general store, Great Lakes Museum, gift shops, ice cream,fishing charters and a free Lake Huron boat launch with paved trailer parking. This is a quaint one bedroom log cabin nestled on the edge of hardwoods. It sits on a knoll overlooking Grand Lake with its own campfire (wood available for purchase). A dock provides access to the lake for boating. Kayaks, paddle boat and a paddle board are available to use. Swimming is available at nearby beaches, hiking trails are close, and the Presque Isle Lighthouse and Harbor are just a few miles away to have an evening pier walk. Monthly discount available. The cabin shares space with our primary residence on the property. The cabin is located on top of the knoll, with the house 75 yards further down the hill. Pine trees and a fountain are located between the cabin and our house, creating for a quiet private setting. Parking is located before the cabin and has a short walking trail to access it. The private dock, to be used for boating purposes only, is located 100 yards away from the cabin. This is the only cabin on the property. Our main residence is on this property, so we will be available if you have any questions, but otherwise, you will have your space all to yourself. The door will be unlocked, so you can self check-in when you arrive. This location is a quaint area with many nearby activities. As far as restaurants, there is the Fireside Inn a half mile down the road that serves breakfast and dinner. It's nice to walk there in the evening to enjoy a lakeside meal. There is the Hideaway Bar and Grill 7 miles away; the town of Alpena is 15 miles south and the town of Rogers City is about 20 miles north. There is also the small town of Presque Isle 3 miles away that has a park, tennis court, basketball court, library, small grocery store, and a place to order pizza. On the north end of Grand Lake, there is the wonderful modern restaurant "Woody's" overlooking Grand Lake. About 6 miles away is the Presque Isle Harbor with two historic Lighthouses, an ice cream shop, charter boats to reserve for big lake fishing (recommendations available), and a harbor with a pier to walk out on. It's nice for an evening stroll to walk along the harbor docks to see the boats from all over the Midwest. As far as nearby activities, there are hiking trails for bird watching and observing rare wild flowers in the area. We will have a binder in the cabin with areas of interest for you to check out. We will also be available to help you navigate the area and answer questions on what is available to do. There is the NOAA center in Alpena on the Thunder Bay River that has a great display of boating history of the Great Lakes as well as a glass bottom boat cruise that you can take out on Lake Huron to view shipwrecks. There are also great biking trails, both in Alpena as well as Rogers City. There's lighthouses, beaches, and waterfalls to explore in the surrounding area as well. If you want to take in a day at Mackinac Island while you're here, the ferry dock is just over an hour away and offers a wonderful day excursion.

Our vacation home is located in a quiet area of Northeastern Michigan in the Presque Isle Harbor Association. The close proximity to refreshing Lake Huron, historic Presque Isle lighthouses and beautiful Michigan State Parks make this home a true getaway. The home is nicely decorated, has a furnace but no air conditioning, and plenty of parking. This salt-box style house has three bedrooms, one is on the main floor, the other two are upstairs. Two bedrooms have queen beds and one a full-size bed. There is a small kitchen with a cooktop (no oven), dining area and living room with sofa and loveseat. There is a nice deck off the back of the house with outdoor seating, wood fireplace, two bathrooms and a laundry room. We also added a propane grill on the deck in 2018. The Presque Isle Harbor, Grand Lake and Long Lake marinas and boat launches allow access to a wide variety of water related activities. The home is also about 30 minutes from Alpena or Rogers City, which provides access to all modern amenities, shopping, museums, historic sites and state parks. This side of the state has dedicated light free zones at night and is fantastic for star gazing and exploring natural state parks. The home is also an hour and a half from Mackinac Island, is very close to the Presque Isle Wooden Boat Show in the summer and other exciting northern Michigan activities. There is no internet, TV or cellular service available at this home. However, a ten minute walk or five minute drive to the marina will give you access to cell service, and a general store and restaurant during the summer season. The home features hair dryers, some board games, puzzles and most kitchen accessories (like a coffee pot). The views are fairly secluded; and you're likely to see small wildlife like birds, squirrels and rabbits, and occasionally deer and other animals.
